Jennifer Lawrence asked Robert De Niro to go home from her wedding rehearsal dinner

Jennifer Lawrence reflected on her wedding to Cooke Maroney, revealing that the experience was far from stress-free. The “No Hard Feelings” actress, speaking on the Golden Globes red carpet, admitted that being a bride was an “awful” experience. She expressed that her primary concern during the event was ensuring the guests had a good time, leading to a heightened sense of stress throughout the day.

According to Lawrence, the constant worry about whether people were enjoying themselves took away from her enjoyment. She mentioned to E! News that focusing on guests’ experiences overwhelmed the entire day.

The private ceremony included notable celebrities such as Robert De Niro, who had previously collaborated with Lawrence on films like “Silver Linings Playbook,” “American Hustle,” and “Joy.” Despite the star-studded guest list, Lawrence confessed that she was so preoccupied during the rehearsal dinner that she urged De Niro, who seemed to be wandering and not interacting much, to “go home.”

Concerned about De Niro not having a good time, Lawrence whispered to him, suggesting he leave the event. Although De Niro politely engaged with her parents, Lawrence explained that his departure made her feel better, alleviating some of the stress associated with the wedding day.

Jennifer Lawrence, aged 33, and Cooke Maroney, aged 38, exchanged vows in a star-studded ceremony held at the Belcourt of Newport mansion in Newport, Rhode Island, in October 2019. The intimate wedding included notable guests such as Adele, Kris Jenner, and Emma Stone.

Opening up about the wedding for the first time, Lawrence shared an amusing anecdote about her concern for the guests’ comfort. Worried about them being cold, she recalled her friends reassuring her that everything was fine, while her mother revealed the true extent of the chilly weather, mentioning that her grandmother almost faced health issues due to the cold.

This revelation marks the first time Lawrence has shared details about her private wedding day, during which she opted for a Dior wedding gown with a sequined neckline, kept in its hotel room before the ceremony. Maroney, the art gallery director, chose a classic tuxedo for the occasion.

The couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Cy, in early 2022. Page Six exclusively reported the news of Lawrence and Maroney dating in June 2018.
